As part of our mission to provide members with constructive comments at ProjectComment, we present to you a new project: Thematic Commenting, a focused approach to commenting where each edition revolves around a key component of art.

:bulletgreen: Each edition will feature a different topic (e.g. Color, Perspective, etc.)

:bulletgreen: If you would like to receive specific comments about that topic, you have one week to sign up.

:bulletgreen: After one week, the edition will officially launch with a feature of all submissions and a written prompt of the art fundamental.

Rules

:bulletblack: Artwork must have a subject matter relevant to the theme/topic (e.g. don't submit a headshot on an edition focusing on perspective).

:bulletblack: Only one artwork allowed per person, per topic.

:bulletblack: Literature is accepted if it fits the theme (e.g. mood), but must be under 200 words for poetry, and 400 words for prose.

This Month's Theme is... Color!

Consider...
  • Do the color choices feel natural for the subject matter?
  • If there is no established color for the subject, or it’s stylized, are the color choices aesthetically pleasing?
  • Should there be any adjustments made to the saturation (strength) or value (brightness) of the colors?
  • Are the colors blended effectively to represent different tones?
  • If cel-shaded, do the colored areas have clean borders?
  • Are there color clashes in any areas?
  • Does colored shading adhere to form, or are effects sprayed over?
  • What do the colors say about the mood of the piece?
  • How does the color affect the personality or the character design?

Sign up now by replying to this journal with a link to your artwork OR submitting to this folder.

Deadline: Saturday 10th February

I am not really sure how this works, so I will give it a try with a "colour"-haiku :)

StarsLilies in the light,
Arctic white as pure, fresh milk -
Peace, awe demanding.
